My childhood memories of Spring always involve walking home from school under a canopy of pink and white cherry blossom trees. Lots of the cherry trees are gone from that road now but we have the most beautiful pink cherry tree in our garden. Every Spring we watch for the first sign of a blossom – and it really kept us waiting this year after such a long Winter! I love every stage of the blossoms, from the first brave bud to the pink blossom snow when they all start to fall.
We are moving from our house soon so I will have to find somewhere else to pursue my cherry blossom photography obsession! We’ll really miss our cherry tree – it’s been the nicest view from the kitchen window and the best tree to climb when you need to see the sunset. When this house and garden are just memories for my boys, I hope these photographs will remind them just how magical it all was.
